Our position, and where to get help
South Light Games has no money in it, which removes the financial harm of gambling but not every part of the picture. Here is how we see our responsibility, and the free services available in New Zealand.
What these games are, plainly
The four games on this site copy the mechanics of gambling: a stake, a chance outcome, a balance that rises and falls. What they do not copy is the money. You cannot deposit, cannot purchase, cannot win anything of value and cannot lose anything of value.
That distinction matters, and so does its limit. Games built on gambling mechanics can normalise those mechanics, and for someone already vulnerable to gambling harm they can feel like a rehearsal. We would rather say that out loud than pretend a free game exists in a vacuum.
Four things worth being clear about
- Success here means nothing there. A good run in a free game does not imply future success at real-money gambling. The two are unrelated.
- Practice does not create an edge. Playing here builds familiarity with rules, not an advantage over a real game.
- The odds are real, the money is not. We use genuine casino odds precisely so the games do not feel luckier than the real thing.
- Adults only. The site is for people aged 20 and over, matching New Zealand's legal age for casino gambling, and nothing on it is made to appeal to children.

Taking a break from this site
There is no account to close, so stopping is straightforward. Clearing your browser's site data removes the stored coin balance completely. Most browsers and both major mobile platforms also offer app or website time limits, and blocking software can add this domain to a list if that helps.

What we will not do
No countdowns, no streak pressure, no notifications that pull you back, no “buy more coins” prompt, and no links to real-money gambling of any kind. We are not paid by anybody to send you anywhere, and there is no version of this site where that changes.
