Game 04 · Frost kingdom

Frostline Keno

Mark between one and ten numbers on a board of eighty, then twenty numbers are drawn without replacement, one at a time. What you are paid depends on how many of yours appear — and on how many you marked in the first place.

What each ticket pays, by numbers marked

Multipliers apply to the stake you set before the draw. Anything not listed pays nothing — a four-spot ticket with one hit, for instance, returns nothing at all.

The setting

Ice, because the game is slow on purpose

Twenty reveals take a while, and that pause is the pleasure of keno rather than a flaw in it. The frost setting suits the wait: a pale board on cold slate, numbers surfacing one after another like frost forming on a window.

Hits and misses are told apart by shape and colour together, not colour alone, so the board still reads correctly if you cannot easily distinguish the two tones.
